Distortion Map (STmap) Exporter

SynthEyes provides a dedicated exporter for lens distortion maps (STMaps). Distortion maps were previously written only from the Shot menu. They are now also available as a regular exporter under File/Export and can be included in Multi-Export.

Usage: Choose File/Export/Distortion Map, which is a submenu containing individual exporters for each supported output format (for example, Distortion Map (OpenEXR)). Select the desired output format, which will present a file chooser dialog to select the output filename. After choosing an output filename, the exporter settings dialog appears, allowing selection of whether to export an Undistort or Redistort map.

This exporter is also available in Multi-Export and can be selected there as part of an export pipeline, allowing distortion maps to be generated alongside other deliverables.

If the lens distortion is animated, an image sequence is written. Otherwise, a single image is written.

Supported formats: OpenEXR, TIFF, PNG, DPX, SGI

The bit depth and alpha mode can be chosen for each format under the File Export section of Preferences. Using bit depths less than 16, or lossy compression methods, are not recommended for distortion maps.
